2AA Rosette Restaurant

Award Winning Restaurant in South Wales

Like our hotel, our award-winning restaurant in South Wales delivers nothing short of excellence. Holding two coveted AA Rosettes and twice named Country Restaurant of the Year, Leicester's Restaurant attracts visitors from far and wide to sample its cuisine.

Fresh Welsh produce is used as often as possible, and the restaurant strives to use organic local produce wherever possible, including fresh fish caught in nearby Porthcawl. Sample a terrine of free range chicken and foie gras with parsnip puree and house-dried figs, or the justifiably famous Welsh beef, served in a red wine and shallot sauce on creamed cabbage. The restaurant's great variety is topped only by its great quality.

  Excellent

Great location with a bus stop outside taking you into Porthcawl. Rooms clean with fluffy towels and bathrobes. Tea making facilities also in bedrooms. Breakfast absolutely top quality and staff also friendly and allowed us early access to our rooms. Highly recommend.

  Sunday Lunch Visit

I live just down the road from the Great House but haven’t been for years as until recently I’ve heard poor reports about the food but my friend had been told it’s under new management so we decided to pay a visit. Wow. Superb meal. There were four of us and we had two tureens of vegetables and plenty of variety. Cooked to perfection for me but if you like veg well cooked I’d mention you do

Perfect Stay, Full of Charm and Character

Wow! What a find! This place is full of charm and character. Set in a beautiful little village. My room was exceptional, so comfortable. The bar area was lively, full of friendly locals, the staff were all so kind and helpful. Had a gorgeous squid dish with a lovely glass of white for my dinner. Slept really well. Would totally recommend 😊

  Excellent Sunday lunch

Excellent Sunday lunch. Plenty of meat and fresh vegetables. For the vegetarians a tasty feta and spinach pie, pastry just melted in mouth. Atmosphere in this lovely old building adds to the meal being special. Remember to book
