Welcome to The Great House Hotel

Originating from around 1550, The Great House is a grade II* listed building and is believed to have been a gift from Queen Elizabeth 1 to the Earl of Leicester and used as a hunting lodge by him.
More modern day Royal connections are via His Royal Highness Charles, Prince of Wales who has visited when travelling throughout Wales.
Stephen D. Bond Esquire is the Lord of the Manor of Laleston and together with his wife Norma restored the Great House in 1986.
The house has a direct family link with the Maid of Cefn Ydfa of nearby Lllangynwyd Parish.
The stone arch above the fireplace in the cocktail bar is believed to be the largest single, unbroken span of stone in Wales. The beams and the stairs are all original to their period.
The Dovecote, in the south wall was an important source of food in olden times. Stone archways and mullioned windows have all been faithfully restored and inglenook fireplaces appear in most public rooms.
Each season has a unique place here. Spring breathes new life into the walled garden. Summer days invite you to take drinks on the patio before dinner and as Autumn turns to Winter, you are enticed to share cocktails in front of open fires.
Every detail is personally supervised by the owners. There is a well-stocked library 'for those quiet moments' and croquet lessons are optional!
The House is licensed for wedding ceremonies and civil partnerships.
